MK Challenges Jerusalem Mehadrin Bus
MK (Likud) Tzipi Hotovely, who chairs the Knesset Committee for the Advancement of Women and also a member of the dati leumi community, on Thursday morning got on board a mehadrin bus, the 418 which travels between Beit Shemesh and Yerushalayim to show her defiance and disapproval of the gender segregation on the bus lines.
After getting off the bus, men and women took their usual seats, in the front and rear respectively. Realizing what was taking place as she was getting off the bus, Hotovely, with the media in tow, got back on the bus to decry the “discrimination against women”. The chareidi men seated in the front of the bus shouted “provocation provocation!” One passenger shouted at her “go marry a goy.
