Kiryat Ono Chief Rabbi HaGaon Rav Dr. Ratzon Arussi Shlita warns that the egalitarian prayer area that is being set up near the Kosel may chas v’sholom lead to civil war. He explains the Kosel is the place Am Yisrael used to daven, and it should be a location that unites, not divide as will be the case once the new area is up-and-running. The rabbi points out that unfortunately, the cabinet reached its decision prior to consulting to the Chief Rabbinate Council, of which he is a member. He feels that the council would form a committee to probe the matter and then report to the cabinet and only then should a decision have been reached. CHAREIDI MAN

A chareidi resident of Beit Shemesh was responsible for turbulence on an international El Al flight. According to airline officials, the incident began when the flight was airing the movie “Truth” starring Robert Redford, which the man said was immodest and should not be shown.

Flight crew radioed ahead to report the 34-year-old man was creating a disturbance, and he was detained when the plane touched base in Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. Flight officials state the chareidi man assaulted some of them during the flight, which was heading to Poland. When questioned by police, the suspect explained the film lacked tznius and it should not have been shown.
According to the report, at least one passenger was assaulted by the man as well as he tried to restrain him.

According to attorney David Rozen during his comments to Kol Chai Radio on Tuesday morning 14 Adar-I, this story is as true as it is bizarre and sad. The story involves the ending of a marriage hours after the chupah due to concerns by the kallah regarding ‘ayin hora’.

The kesuva was ready and the sum included in it was NIS180,000. For reasons only the kallah knows, something to do with ‘ayin hora’, she insisted the amount must be changed to NIS 555,000.

Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita calls on people to report irresponsible drivers to avoid catastrophe, as was the case in last week’s Egged 402 bus crash that claimed six lives and left over twenty people injured. During his weekly motzei Shabbos shiur, the rav stated if one sees a driver acting erratically he should write down the vehicle license number and phone police to report the driver. He stressed one is permitted to report such a driver to authorities. PEACE IN ISRAEL

The High Court of Justice recently ruled that a Reform Movement convert must be permitted to toivel in a Chief Rabbinate of Israel-run mikve in Beersheva in front of a Reform beis din. In response, Shas, Bayit Yehudi and Yahadut Hatorah have united in the hope of passing a bill that will circumvent the High Court’s ruling. The religious parties are proposing a bill that stipulates mikvaos must operate under the regulations set forth by local religious councils. In the shadow of ongoing Palestinian terror attacks and following the most recent tragedy, the fatal Egged 402 bus crash that claimed six lives R”L, the Sanzer Rebbe Shlita has released a letter addressing the difficult period. In the letter he speaks of the threats posed to the tzibur by modern technology, warning of the “קליפה טמאה המקטרג בראש”, the kitrug that results from said technology.
