I don't know what letter you are referring to. Extremes are a bad thing, so expecting so siblings to look after other siblings constantly is wrong but they should help and take some responsibility so as not to be selfish. It's the old fashioned way and my dad took time off school to look after his 7 siblings when he was young. Now, modern people and non Jews only have a few kids so they don't have this issue.
