- I WATCHED THE PROGRAM ON CHILD ABUSE ON CHANNEL FOUR AND I HAVE A FEW POINTS THAT I DID NOT UNDERSTAND.THE MAN CAME IN TO RAV PADWA AND SAID HE WAS ABUSED AS A BOY.THE REPORTER DID NOT QUESTION THE MAN IF THIS WAS TRUE AND THE SAME GOES FOR THE POLICE.IF YOU CLAIM A PERSON HAS ABUSED YOU SPECIALLY A CHILD THE POLICE ACCEPT THIS TO BE TRUE ? ? ? AND ARREST THE PERSON.IT IS FRONT PAGE NEWS IN ALL THE PAPERS AND T.V.LATER ON WHEN IT IS FOUND OUT THAT IT IS NOT TRUE,THE RETRACTION IS PUBLISHED ON THE BACK PAGE OF THE NEWSPAPER ,
IN A LITTLE COLUMN .THE DAMAGE TO THE PERSON HAS BEEN DONE.THE FAMILY'S SHAME, LOSS OF JOB ETC,ETC,ALL RAV PADWA WAS SAYING:DON'T GO TO THE POLICE AS SOCIETY AND THE POLICE ARE NOT FAIR IN THESE SITUATIONS.THE TORAH LOOKS AT IT A FAIRER WAY.( 1 } IS THIS MAN TELLING THE TRUTH ?( 2 ) IF YES DO WE HAVE TO PERSECUTE A PERSON ?LIKE IN NEW YORK WHERE THE PERSON GOT 103 YEARS IN PRISON, WHICH IS A JOKE. IF HE WOULD HAVE BEEN A MASS MURDERER AND KILLED ALL HIS VICTIMS HE WOULD HAVE ONLY GOT 25 YEARS.THE REPORTER ON THE PROGRAM NEVER QUESTIONED THE VICTIMS. ARE YOU TELLING THE TRUTH ?WE LIVE IT THESE COUNTRIES AND WE HAVE TO ABIDE THEIR LAWS,YEARS AGO WE WOULD NOT HAVE COME OUT AND OPENLY QUESTIONED THE LAW AND SAY THE LAW IS AN ASS.

You make a fair point but you are still a morsel of a tit.
Because obviously this boy was checked to have been abused otherwise they wouldnt have taken him. The fact is, R Padwa acknowledged immediately on film that he knows who the boy is talking about. He admits that there is a problem with this individual and that this boy was affected.So we dont even need external verification as Padwa does that.
Also, even if the boy did lie, so what? The point of the scene and the whole program is to expose how the Rabbis keep it covered up and dont deal properly with it. Even if it was a hypothetical case, it makes no difference because it still exposed the cover up mentality and an archane application of the halacha.
The poskim defiitely allow mesirah in cases where teachers are abusing an individual and also any form of sexual abuse that will affect others in future.
