WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY

PHOTOS: Fraudster Disappears With NIS 15,000 Paid For Har Menuchos Levaya

(PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)
A family was preparing to bury a 30-year-old son on motzei Rosh Hashanah after he was niftar in Hadassah Hospital in Ein Kerem.
The family explains that a religious-looking man approached them and offered to handle all the burial matter, asking NIS 15,000 for his services. They claim to have paid the man NIS 15,000 in cash, and the levaya was set for motzei Yomtov at 10:30PM.
The family and hundreds of friends waited innocently for the chevra kadisha vehicle to arrive with the body of the niftar. After about a half hour, they checked with Hadassah Ein Kerem, learning no one had come to deal with the body, which remained in the hospital morgue, awaiting the chevra kadisha.
They phoned the man who arranged the levaya, but the phone number was not working. They then realized they handed NIS 15,000 to a con artist. The friends returned home as clearly, the levaya was not going to take place soon.
Late at night, members of Chevra Kadisha Yerushalayim organized the levaya, which took place at 2:00AM. An announcement was also made for persons to come for kovod hameis due to the situation and the late hour. It included the fact the niftar volunteered at MDA for many years, working to save lives, asking people to come and pay respect to him at his kvura. Dozens of persons arrived for the levaya.
The family has filed a complaint with police.

A year of Protection for Those who Contribute to Kupat Chazon Ish

HaMekubal R’ Dovid Stern’s Blessing: A year of Protection for Those who Contribute to Kupat Chazon IshHe embodies humility and modesty, but those who seek his counsel know that the holy mekubal of Bnei Brak has a special pathway to our Father in Heaven. His blessings have miraculously come true – whether for shidduchim, recovery from illness, healthy children, or success in raising them. Now, HaRav Dovid Chaim Stern is showering his heartfelt blessings and tefillos upon those who donate to the original Kupah of Bnei Brak – Kupat Chazon Ish.
Established upon the advice of the Chazon Ish and the Steipler Gaon, who served as its first treasurer, Kupat Chazon Ish is a tzedakah fund like no other. For more than 60 years, it has been managed by the greatest tzaddikim of the generation. Every penny donated goes directly toward assisting families in dire financial straits. They are saddled with oppressive medical bills, dreadful living conditions, and constant hunger. But Kupat Chazon Ish relieves their burden.
In honor of Rosh Hashana 5779, those who contribute $180 to the tzedakah fund will receive a coin etched with the blessings of the holy Rabbonim of Bnei Brak. This special matbeya bracha brings a year of bracha and shemira in its wake. And isn’t that something we all need as we stand on the cusp of a new year?
The Beis Avraham Fund of Kupat Chazon Ish assists 6,000 families every year. Their trained volunteers support thousands of widows and orphans and save families suffering from financial crisis. Through job training, budget assistance, and emergency funding for medical bills and legal assistance, an astounding 75% of families make a complete financial recovery. Kupat Chazon Ish helps each family become self-sufficient so they won’t need your help again.
What’s more, you will receive the brachos of our holiest leaders. “I’m the lawyer, the agent, serving as an advocate between you and your Father in Heaven,” says HaRav Stern. As we face the heavenly tribunal this Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, who doesn’t need a top lawyer to advocate on his behalf?
Take advantage of this special opportunity and receive a coin with the blessing of HaMekubal R’ Dovid Chaim Stern, Shlita, by donating $180 to www.kupaschazonish.org. You can also donate by phone now by calling 718.338.9606 or you can send your generous donation to Kupat Chazon Ish – Beit Avraham, 901 Avenue M, Brooklyn, NY 11230.

As Rosh Hashana approaches, struggling families are increasingly burdened with the financial strain of the holidays. This year, Kupat Chazon Ish Beis Avrohom will distribute 1.2 Million NIS before Yom Tov to families living in frightening poverty. You too can have a part in this mitzvah, and acquire great merit and blessing for the New Year.

Tizku L’Mitzvot. May you and your family merit a year of bracha v’hatzlacha

OUR SOCIETY IS SICK WITH BEING OCCUPIED WITH THE PENIS

ONCE AGAIN: Lakewood’s Senior Posek & Pediatrician Partner To Warn Parents About Sexual Abuse Over Yom Tov

The senior Posek and senior Pediatrician of Lakewood have once again partnered together to warn parents about the dangers of sexual abuse for children – over the Yom Tov season.
Yom Tov is a time when families get together, school is out, and parents tend to be lax in knowing the exact whereabouts of their children AT ALL TIMES. Multiple professionals and therapists have told YWN that predators specifically prey on young and vulnerable children during Yomim Tovim – specifically on Yom Kippur.
“Parents are busy Davening with intense Kavanah, and they have no idea that their children are being abused in the most horrible ways possible”, a therapist told YWN. “One extra long Shemona Esrei with a predator in the area, and the child will need years of therapy. Please don’t leave your children alone on Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashanah and Simchas Torah – days when parents are busy and the children are playing”.
As YWN reported, just before the summer, a hotline with recorded messages from both of them – as well as other professionals – was publicized. The messages warned parents about the obligation that a parent has to speak with their children before camp about abuse.
Now, as Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur and Sukkos are approaching, they have once again taken the commendable and bold action, and released new messages to the community. These messages are a must listen for parents.
The attached poster has been hung in all Shuls around Lakewood including BMG, as well as in Dr Shaniks office.
To listen to these important messages, call 641-715-3800 and enter code 811504#.
This is the third time that the Lakewood community has publicly addressed the dangers of sexual abuse and protecting children.
The first event was organized two years ago by Amudim, and was attended by well over 1000 people, including noted askanim, roshei kehillah, the poskim of Beis Medrash Govoha and with the hishtatfus and brocha of the roshei yeshiva, and ‎roshei mosdos.
It is now clear, that thanks to the Amudim event, this topic is now being dealt with head on, as opposed to the way it was addressed for decades. The awareness that the Amudim event generated went a long way in providing the necessary information and resources to prevent these problems from occurring, and if Chas V’shalom they do, how to properly deal with it al pi Da’as Torah.

THIS IS WHAT THE COWARDS OF LONDON NEED TO DO

Lakewood Roshei Yeshiva Direct All 9th Grade Girls Schools To REMAIN CLOSED Until Every Girl Is Placed

No ninth grades will be opening in Lakewood on Monday on the direction of the Roshei Yeshiva of BMG – until every child is accepted into school.
According to TLS which first reported the story, a total of nine girls are still not accepted into high school. The Mashgiach, HaRav Matisyahu Salomon along with the Roshei Yeshiva have instructed the schools to keep their ninth grades closed, until every child is placed. All other grades will be open
Askonim have been working tirelessly the past few months / week to have every child accepted into school. The number was originally close to 70, and has since been reduced to 9. It should be noted that some of the girls have been accepted into some school, but they (or their parents) do not want them in those schools.
Sources tell YWN that there are some other major Yeshiva issues brewing in Lakewood. One elementary school named “Ohel Esther” that has approximately 90 girls will not be reopening due to a lack of funds. Those children have still not been placed into other schools as of Friday afternoon. Askonim are working tirelessly to ensure that they are all accepted into other Mosdos by next week.
YWN reminds our readers that in 2016, R’ Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz, the Philanthropist from Los Angeles delivered a powerful speech at a well-attended dinner that rocked the Lakewood community – and the Chareidi world at large. A video of the speech was viewed hundreds of thousands of times. The controversy exploded, with Rechnitz issuing a statement and clarification letter. The issue that everyone was afraid to speak about in Lakewood was finally brought to the forefront, and was rapidly spreading to other Frum communities around the world that suffer from the same issue.
One person who spent 25 years in Chinuch told YWN that thanks to Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz, the Yeshivas have started working harder to accept children into their schools.
