The manager of a hotel in Switzerland said she was wrong to post signs instructing “Jewish guests” to shower before entering the pool and to access the refrigerator at set times.
Ruth Thomann, who runs the Paradies Arosa hotel 80 miles southeast of Zurich, responded Monday to articles published in Israeli media outlets about the signs put up by hotel staff over the weekend.

“I have nothing against Jews, whom we regularly receive warmly here,” she told JTA on Monday. “I may have selected the wrong words; the signs should have been addressed to all the guests instead of Jewish ones.”
Thomann removed the signs following complaints.
A report about the signs prompted Tzipi Hotovely, Israel’s deputy foreign minister, to condemn the hotel’s actions as “an antisemitic act of the worst and ugliest kind,” as her office said in a statement Monday. Hotovely said Thomann should be prosecuted for a hate crime and suggested the signs were indicative of the antisemitism throughout Europe.
“Unfortunately, antisemitism in Europe is still a reality and we must make sure that the punishment for incidents such as these will serve as deterrents for those who still harbor the germ of antisemitism,” Hotovely said.
Thomann said her staff allowed only the Jewish guests as a courtesy to put food in the refrigerator normally reserved for staff.
“The sign was addressed to Jewish guests simply because the other guests are not allowed to put food in the fridge, and we wanted our Jewish guests to access the food only at set times because otherwise it was an impossible situation,” she said.
She also said that only the hotel’s Jewish guests went into the pool while wearing T-shirts and without showering first.
This prompted staff to put up a sign reading: “To our Jewish Guests: Please take a shower before you go swimming and although after swimming. If you break the rules, I’m forced to cloes the swimming pool for you.” [sic]

The sign about the refrigerator read: “To our Jewish guests: You are allowed to approach the fridge between the hours: 10.00-11.00 in the morning and 16.30-17.30 in the evening. I hope you understand that our team does not like to be disturbed every time.”

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE WHEN I LOVE MY WIFE OR FAMILY THERE IS AN OBJECT A PERSON I CAN LOVE, WHEN LOVING HASHEM I HAVE NOTHING TO HOLD ON TO, TO LOVE.
WHAT I DID WHEN I LOVED MY WIFE I PUT G-D IN BETWEEN MY WIFE AND ME THE THIRD PARTNER AND SO DID MY WIFE AND WE COULD GET TO A VERY HIGH SPIRITUAL LEVEL, YOU CAN SEE THAT IN MY CHILDREN.
SINCE LOSING MY WIFE TIKWAH A.H. I START TO UNDERSTAND THE DEEP G=DLY LOVE WE HAD EVEN THOUGH WE WERE DIFFERENT. AND THIS KIND OF LOVE I CAN NOT FIND, I STILL LOVE MY WIFE, ONLY NOW IT IS SPIRITUAL NOT PHYSICAL.

RESPONSIBILITY OF LIFE
I AM VERY OPEN AND LOOK AROUND ME AND LISTEN TO THE MEDIA, THE JEWISH AND NON JEWISH WORLD, THE PROBLEMS IN TO DAY'S WORLD IS THAT THEY LIVE WITH THEIR FEELINGS AND NOT WITH THEIR BRAINS.
PEOPLE IN LIFE AND ESPECIALLY WITH CHILDREN AND ADULTS HAVE TO PUT THERE WANTS AND DESIRES ASIDE AND LIVE WITH WHAT IS GOOD FOR THEIR CHILDREN AND BE A LESSON IN LIFE TO THEM AS ADULTS.
AS IN FOOD WE HAVE TO EAT WHAT IS HEALTHY FOR OUR BODIES TO SURVIVE, WE CAN NOT GIVE OUR CHILDREN ONLY FOOD THAT THEY DESIRE, WE HAVE TO TELL THEM NOT TO EAT TO MUCH SUGAR IT WILL MAKE YOU FAT AND ILL, THE SAME GOES FOR OUR FEELINGS, IT IS ALL IN OUR MIND'S, FOR TOYS AND ENJOYMENTS.
THE SAME RESTRICTIONS APPLY FOR ADULTS, BUT TO OUR SORROW, THE PARENTS NEVER LEARNT RESTRAINT IN LIFE AND DID NOT TEACH THIS TO THE CHILDREN AND THE PROBLEM THE PARENTS AND THE CHILDREN HAVE WILL GO ON AND ON.
THE BASIC LAWS OF THE TORAH IS TO HAVE RESTRAINT MEAT AND MILK , SHABBOS ETC ETC. WE ALL NEED TO DO AND HAVE EVERYTHING AS OUR FEELINGS TELL US, AND WE END WITH PROBLEMS.
THE REASON BEING WE LIVE WITH OUR FEELINGS AND WHAT WE WANT AND NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY AS TORAH JEW.

EMUNA B'SHEAM
THERE IS A VERY OLD AND FAMOUS SONG THE FUTURE IS NOT OURS TO SEE.
IN LIFE WE PLAN A LOT EVERY DAY, WERE TO GO AND WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO, BY JEWISH PEOPLE WE ALWAYS ADD BE'ZRAS HASHEM WHICH MEANS WITH G-D 'S HELP.
THIS IS SO IMPORTANT, EMUNA IN HASHEM KNOWING THAT WE CAN PLAN THE FUTURE FOR OURSELVES AND OUR CHILDREN EVEN IF I PRAY TO G-D IT MY ALWAYS TURN OUT DIFFERENT.
I HAVE NO WAY OUT BUT TO PLAN MY DAY AND LIFE BUT IN THE BACK OF MY MIND I ALWAYS HAVE TO KNOW AND ACCEPT THAT EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS DOES NOT HAVE TO GO THE WAY I PLAN.
AS IS WRITTEN, " MANY DESIGNS ARE IN MAN'S HEART, BUT ONLY THE COUNSEL OF HASHEM WILL PREVAIL"
THIS IS VERY HARD AS LOTS OF TIMES WE MAKE PLANS AND THEY DO PREVAIL.
E.G. I GO OUT OF THE HOUSE WITH INTENT OF GOING SHOPPING IN THIS OR THAT SHOP, AND END UP SHOPPING IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AREA AND BY CHANCE I FIND A BETTER BARGAIN IN THIS PLACE I HAVE GONE TO, THEN I SAY I SEE THE HAND OF G-D. BUT WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO NOT GET A BETTER BARGAIN, DO I GET ANGRY WITH MY SELF FOR MAKING A MISTAKE.
THE ANSWER IN EMUNA IS THAT IT WAS NOT A MISTAKE THAT WAS THE HAND G-D.
THE REASON AND PURPOSE OF THE MISTAKE I DO NOT SEE AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND, BUT THE MORE TIMES I ACCEPT THE MISTAKE THE STRONGER I WILL GET IN EMUNA B'SHEAM
ALSO I WILL NOT GET ANGRY WITH A PERSON WHO INSULTS ME OR DOES SOMETHING BAD TO ME AS I WILL KNOW THAT COMES FROM HASHEM .
