ARRESTED: Cult-Leader Rabbi Berland And Family Taken Into Custody; Followers Lay On Road In Front Of Police Car [VIDEOS]

Israel Police raided the Shuva Banim community in Jerusalem early Sunday morning and arrested Rabbi Eliezer Berland and his wife and five other senior figures in the cult-like community on charges of alleged exploitation of sick people and their families as well as money laundering and tax evasion of hundreds of millions of dollars.
The police raided the Shuvu Bunim shul about 5 a.m. and brought Rabbi Berland to his home where they carried out a thorough search with the assistance of dog handlers and then arrested him.
While Berland was being taken to the police car, his followers began rioting and throwing rocks and stones at the policemen, wounding two of them. One of his followers can be heard shouting repeatedly “Harav, kill them! Harav, kill them!” – apparently believing that Berland had the power to kill the policemen through spiritual forces if he wished to. The police were forced to use stun grenades to control the crowd.
As police led Berland to the police vehicle, other policemen surrounded the car to keep his followers from reaching it. Some followers tried to lie down in front of the car, apparently being willing to lay down their life for Berland, and police were forced to pull them out of the way.

On Sunday afternoon, Berland was brought to the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court for a hearing and his arrest was extended for five days.
During the hearing, it was clarified that the investigation, which began months ago is ongoing but when the police completed the undercover part of the investigation, they issued an arrest warrant.
Berland claimed during his initial interrogation with the police on Sunday that he only receives “pidyonos” for brachos from people who request it and he accepts only small amounts of money.
The police requested that the court extend Rabbi Berland’s arrest due to suspicion that he may obstruct legal proceedings and may also flee the country like he did in 2012 when allegations against him by multiple women became public.
The judge agreed to extend Rabbi Berland’s arrest. Following the judge’s decision Rabbi Berland was taken to the hospital to undergo medical examinations.
The investigation against the cult was conducted by a special investigative team of the Jerusalem District Police. “Over the last few months, Israel Police have conducted an undercover investigation for suspected crimes of exploitation, fraud and serious tax offenses which are suspected to have been carried out over a number of years by the suspects,” Israel Police stated on Sunday.
According to B’Chadrei Chareidim, one of the complaints filed with the police stated that after Berland had promised the family of a clinically dead man that he will be healed, the family gave him a large sum of money. When the promise failed to be fulfilled, the family sought their money back and Berland responded that the family should give him more money and their relative will be healed. After the patient died, the family against sought their money and Berland told them to give him additional money so their relative will be the first one to arise during techiyas ha’meisim. Multiple people in need of yeshuos were exploited in a similar manner.
“As the investigation progressed, the investigators succeeded in unraveling the suspects’ pattern of actions, which is suspected to have been conducted through a hierarchical system, in which each suspect had a defined role, with everything done under the tutelage and name of the main suspect – in his 80s.”
Police noted that the investigation focused on two areas – the first was criminal offenses, of which evidence and testimonies were gathered against the suspects of receiving tens of thousands of shekels for brachos and promises of healing and other yeshuos. The second was financial crimes, with police investigators uncovering multiple alleged offenses against the suspects, including money laundering, tax evasion and other tax offenses adding up to hundreds of millions of shekels.
In the past, Rabbi Berland was released from house arrest just before Rosh Hashana two years ago, the result of a conviction for assault. Berland pleaded guilty to his actions against multiple victims. he had first fled Israel and traveled from country to country, thus avoiding extradition to Israel, where a warrant for his arrest had been issued. He spent time in the United States, Italy, Switzerland, Morocco, Egypt, Zimbabwe, and Johannesburg before being arrested and extradited to Israel where he faced the law.
His followers claim that Berland willingly took upon himself this disgrace, suffering, and exile, “which spiritually protects the Jewish People from heavenly decrees of annihilation”. It should be noted that audio footage was released where Berland was talking to his attorney about the details of one of his assaults.
Despite the charges and the guilty plea, he continues to be a celebrity-rabbi, as thousands of thousands of people flock to him.

THE PURPOSE OF A JEWISH MARRIAGE

I AM LOOKING AROUND LATELY AT THE JEWISH MARRIAGE SITUATION , I HEAR OF SO MANY MARRIAGES THAT ARE NOT SUCCESSFUL ( THEY DO NOT GET DIVORCED ) BUT THEY DO NOT LIVE HAPPILY TOGETHER AND LOVE EACH OTHER THE WAY I LOVED MY WIFE TIKVAH A.H.

WHEN I MEET WOMEN AND TRY TO EXPLAIN WHAT I HAD WITH MY WIFE ( THE RELATIONSHIP AND LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING) THEY DO NOT EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT .

I THINK WE NEED TO ADD TO THE JEWISH MARRIAGE CEREMONY THE GOYISH WORDS FOR BETTER OR WORSE,  RICH OR POOR, ETC, ETC.

THE JEWISH WOMEN DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT HASHEM MADE PEOPLE TO LIVE TOGETHER, NOT THAT A WOMAN THINKS THE MAN NEEDS HER, OR THAT THE MAN THINKS THE WOMEN NEEDS MAN WHO WILL SUPPORT HER AND GIVE HER WHAT SHE  WANTS IN THIS WORLD.

THAT IS THE WRONG  EVALUATION OF MARRIED LIFE AND I AM NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT SEX.

WE HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING, WERE G-D SAW IT IS NOT GOOD FOR THE MAN TO LIVE ALONE,AND GAVE HIM A PARTNER TO LIVE TOGETHER, EACH ONE HELPS THE OTHER IN LIFE.

TO COME TO A CONCLUSION REAL AND TRUE LOVE IS WERE EACH ONE NEEDS THE OTHER, THAT IS A HAPPY MARRIAGE, AND WHEN ONE PARTS YOU DO NOT FEEL ONE.

AND AGAIN: Lubavitcher Musicians For Yud Shevat Performance In Moscow Detained In Airport

Five Israelis who arrived in Moscow on an Aeroflot flight from Tel Aviv on Wednesday were detained at the Sheremetyevo Airport for five hours and then sent back on a flight to Israel.
According to a Kikar Ha’Shabbos report, two of the Israelis detained at the airport were two Lubavitcher chassidim, the musician Yossi Zoldan and the singer Eli Chafetz, who were traveling to Russia to perform at a gathering in Moscow to mark Yud Shevat, the yahrtzeit of the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe and the beginning of the leadership of the seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rav Menachem Mendel Schneerson zt’l.
Zoldan told Kikar HaShabbos that his flight landed around noon in Moscow and as soon as he arrived at passport control he was instructed to wait on the side together with four other Israelis.
The Israelis were then taken for questioning, fingerprinting, and were required to provide samples for DNA testing. The Russian officials then moved them to a locked room without food or drink or access to a bathroom.
Zoldan added that despite the efforts of the Israeli consul to release them, the Russians decided to send them back to Israel on the next flight.
“Of course I immediately arranged for a local musician to play instead of me at the event tonight for Yud Shevat in Moscow, which will be attended by the Chief Rabbi of Russia, Harav Berel Lazar,” Zoldan said.
“As a Jewish “ma’amin” and especially as a Chabad chassid, I believe with complete faith that everything is from Hakadosh Baruch Hu. This won’t only not prevent us from continuing our work but we’ll continue to make Jews happy in Israel and around the world.”
The Russian authorities claimed that the five Israelis were being sent back to Israel because they traveled to Russia for business purposes but they did not have the appropriate visas.
This past Friday, ten Israelis who landed in Moscow were denied entry to Russia and sent back to Israel.
The incident happened a day after the release of Naama Issachar from jail on Thursday after being pardoned by Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to news reports, one of the conditions that Russia requested for Issachar’s release was decreased restrictions on Russian tourists visiting Israel.
Last month, Israelis were detained several times upon landing in Moscow and questioned. The Russian embassy seemed to justify the detainment of Israelis at the time by stating that: “Until December 1, 5,771 Russian tourists were denied entry into Israel. In October alone of this year, 568 Russian tourists were denied entry into Israel and 569 tourists in November. Every day, about 20 tourists who arrive in Israel with money and an organized tour are stopped and sent back to Russia.”

YOU CAN NOT CHANGE YOUR DESTINATION IN LIFE BY TRAVELING TO KAVORIM

Rav Shlomo Zalmen Auerbach Zt’zl wouldn’t join Tehilim betzibbur for a person who had no medical chance of recovery. He said that this weakens people’s belief in the koach of tefilah since it requires a nes for the person to recover. Every few days YWN issues a call for Tehillim for an choshever Talmud Chochom or rebitzen & a few days later they are gone, & we are told that they were suffering from a serious illness for a while. Obviously, these people were already medically beyond a refuah biderech hatevah & by issuing such a call to daven for such an ill person we are weakening the whole concept of Tefila which is already so weak for us. I call upon the YWN editor to ask a moreh Horoah whether it’s proper to issue a public call for tefilah for a person who has no medical chance to recover. Please publish what you were told.

NEW SEGULA? The Vitznitzer Rebbe & 100 Chassidim Cross The Egyptian Border Into Sinai In Historic Trip [PHOTOS]

Two days after returning from a visit to London, the Vitznitzer Merkaz Rebbe (Reb Mendel) left early Tuesday morning on a mysterious trip which was kept top secret until the last moment, traveling toward Eilat with over 100 chassidim.
The story began when 75 Vitznitzer chassidim who donated more than NIS 50,000 to Vitznitzer mosdos received a surprise message about a trip with the Rebbe and were asked to arrive at the main Viznitzer beis medrash in Bnei Brak at 4:30 a.m. with passports and tefillin, B’Chadrei Chareidim reported.
The trip was a complete surprise and was kept completely under wraps until the last minute. Even the participants themselves didn’t know where they were going and at first, they thought they were flying to Poland to the tzion of Rebbe Menachem Mendel M’Rimanov who publicized the segulah of reciting Parshas HaMan on the Tuesday of erev Parshas Beshalach – Shabbos Shira.
Some of the chassidim drove in their cars toward Eilat and davened Shacharis on Har Yoash close to Eilat. Other chassidim, some of whom had flown in from Canada, the United States and Europe to join the trip, flew from Ben-Gurion Airport to Ramon Airport in Eilat. From Eilat, they proceeded to the Taba Border Crossing and crossed the border into Sinai in Egypt.
Important Viznitz personalities and members of the Va’ad Ha’ne’amanim arrived at the site for Shacharis which began at noon along with the recital of Parshas Haman and Shiras Hayam in Sinai next to the Yam Suf. The chassidim are expected to return from the trip overnight Tuesday at 2 a.m.
Viznitzer Chassidus will mark Yud Beis Shevat on the upcoming Shabbos Shira, the Rosh Hashana for the chassidus as it marks the day that the Rebbe established the Vitznitz Chassidic Center. The main celebration will take place on Motzei Shabbos in Nes Tziona.

Baba Baruch: There Won’t Be A Peace Plan, Moshiach Is Coming [VIDEO]

The Mekubal Rav Baruch Abuchatzeira, also known as the Baba Baruch, the son of the Baba Sali, recently related his view of Trump’s peace plan as part of a wide-ranging conversation with Kikar H’Shabbos which will be published in its entirety at a later date.
“Look at a few wondrous things,” the Baba Baruch said. “Just the fact that America, President of the United States Trump – who dreamed that it would be like this? They’re all the signs of Moshiach and we need to rejoice.”
“Look at the fear of the Arabs when they heard that Trump has a peace plan. But it won’t come to anything. Why? Because Moshiach will come and he’ll annul it – there won’t be a peace plan.”

Baba Baruch also related the famous “watch dream” that has been riveting the town of Netivot for the past few years.
Baba Baruch told the interviewer: “The Rishon LeZion, Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu Z”L, was a very close friend.  My father, (the Baba Sali) came to me in a dream and told me that a certain watch in the possession of so-and-so belonged to him. He told me where to find the man who had the watch and to bring the watch to Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu. He told me to tell Rabbi Eliyahu to wear the watch and to see when the larger hand will rest on top of the shorter one at 12:00 in the afternoon, then the countdown to Mashiach’s arrival will begin. I took the watch and I brought it to Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu.”
“This is a great sign and a great secret,” said the Baba Baruch. “What we now see in our days, this is the coming of the Mashiach, and it is close by.”

EMOTIONAL FOOTAGE: Holocaust Survivor At Auschwitz With Yeshiva Boys SCREAMS “Where Was Roosevelt, Yemach Sehemo?!”

In a moving scene by Auschwitz, an English-speaking Holocaust survivor told his story, surrounded by a group of 25 boys from Ateres Shimon from Far Rockaway.
Rabbi Shmuel Beller, 92, grew up in the Polish town of Oświęcim which later became the most notorious concentration camp associated with the Holocaust – Auschwitz.
Emotional, with his voice choked as tears streamed down his face, R’ Beller screamed “Unbelievable what the murderers, these Germans Yemach Shemam did! Where was Roosevelt, President Roosevelt Yemach Sememo?! He could of saved alot of Jews!
“He didn’t!”
“The Rasha (Roosevelt) Yemach Shemo!”
R’ Beller was 12 when World War II began and spent five years being transported to ghettos and labor camps until he was sent to a concentration camp at the end of the war. He survived the camp, endured a death march, and was ultimately liberated but ironically almost didn’t survive eating solid food after being liberated. He became critically ill and was hospitalized for three months.

Rabbi Beller has previously said that after the war he was no longer religious, but the Klausenberger Rebbe drew him close and influenced him to become religious again.
Rabbi Beller gradually realized he was the only survivor of his family. He eventually discovered five surviving friends from his hometown, adding that none of his friends were still religious and it was a miracle that he became religious
