DO NOT GO TO THESE COUNTRIES

800kg Of Fresh Meats For Vacation Confiscated From Chareidi Group At The Swiss Border

A group of chareidim from England and Belgium on their way to vacation were apprehended at the border crossing between Switzerland and Germany with 800kg (1,763 pounds) of fresh meat. The meat was intended for their bein hazmanim vacation. They were compelled to pay tens of thousands of euros in fines, and the meat was confiscated and destroyed.
Thousands of Jews from around the world will be heading to Switzerland during bein hazmanim, taking advantage of one of the many vacation venues offered. Chareidim often bring along food for a number of reasons, mainly due to the high price one is required to pay in Switzerland.
Two full buses of chassidim from London and Antwerp were heading to their vacation destination in Switzerland. They brought food for the two-week vacation. When they arrived at the border crossing, the inspector requested to open the baggage compartments of the buses. To the surprise of the inspectors, they found 800kg of fresh meats and poultry. According to the law, they may not bring them into Switzerland.
The meats and poultry were confiscated, and the travelers were fined tens of thousands of euros. The names of the heads of families were recorded as well, and it is likely that they will be charged with trying to illegally smuggle illegal meats into the country.

Israel’s Health Ministry Hides Poll Which Paints An Extremely Bleak Picture Regarding The Ministry’s Performance

A poll to determine the level of the tzibur’s satisfaction with Israel’s Ministry of Health is being hidden by the ministry. It appears the poll resulted in determining a widespread lack of satisfaction with the ministry’s performance, with the worst rating given to the ministry’s unit which address complaints from the public.
According to a report appearing in the Tuesday issue of the Yisrael Hayom newspaper, the poll shows the level of satisfaction being moderate to lower after polling 1,100 persons regarding the various units in the ministry. The lowest grade was given to the ministry’s ombudsman’s office.
The highest grades were given to the ministry’s health professionals, including physicians, pharmacists and psychologists. The rating from the special needs community for the ministry was exceptionally low, with a satisfaction rate of only 43%.
The unit granting permits for medical equipment enjoys a 95% satisfaction rating as compared to the pharmaceutical unit, which has a rating of 46%.
According to the report, the ministry’s spokesman refused to release the poll, but the newspaper was able to receive a copy under the freedom of information law.

He is also facing charges of bribery and breach of trust in assisting to prevent the closure of restaurant owned by a family member, despite major health violations against it. This refers to Goldy’s Restaurant in Jerusalem. One woman’s miscarriage was attributed to the restaurant’s food as well as others who were infected with salmonella, some hospitalized.

AND AGAIN AND AGAIN

AND AGAIN: Two Chareidi Girls Caught Smuggling Drugs Into England Extradited Back to Israel

Two Israeli women were detained in England after they were caught smuggling a large quantity of illegal substances from Israel into London. They were detained by police for five days before they were extradited back to Israel.
The women were stopped by border control guards at London’s Stansted Airport last Thursday. The local Jewish Paper, The Jewish News, reported that they were being extradited back to Israel on Wednesday.
Askanim in the the Charedi community of Stamford Hill worked with the authorities to have the women released and sent back to Israel. “The women were very lucky that the case did not make it to court,” said one of the local Askanim. We need to warn others to think twice before they ever think of trying something similar.
Police are still investigating the circumstances behind the story including why the drugs were not found when they left Ben Gurion Airport and who paid them to smuggle the drugs into England. It is believed that the women had been promised a luxury London stay by a man in Israel if they delivered a package containing Class B drugs, understood to be khat.
The Askanim said that the girls, aged 20 and 22, were incredibly naive. When they were asked whether or not they were taking a suitcase that didn’t belong to them they responded that they were not. The bag was checked after the women came under suspicion in England.
British authorities offered for them to fly back to Israel on Friday, but the girls refused fearing that they would land close to or on Shabbos. Following that, the girls were officially expelled on Monday back to Israel.
YWN has previously reported about the arrest of dozens of young Chareidi men and women for smuggling drugs into the UK.
