CHAOS IN LAKEWOOD: Hundreds of Yeshiva Bochrim Protest After Kosher Bein Hazmanim Event Canceled; Heavy Police Response, Arrest Made [VIDEOS]
What was supposed to be a pleasant evening of Kosher entertainment for hundreds of Yeshiva Bochrim in Lakewood has turned into night of absolute chaos Sunday night.
The event was going to give the Bochrim currently on Bain Hazmanim a night of entertainment, including live music and singing by Isaac Honig and Beri Weber, along with a Siyum and speeches by several local Mechanichim.
But instead, the event was canceled at the last minute after a small group of people persuaded the Roshei Yeshiva that this event – for Bochrim only – must be stopped at all cost.
The organizer was threatened into canceling, including being shown a “Kol Koreh” that was to be published with his name, banning the event.
The organizers caved, and the event was canceled. Of course, they promise to repay him the nearly $30,000 he lost.
Hundreds of Bochrim were angry as they had already purchased tickets, and decided to make Kumzits/protest at the homes of those who had the event banned
Dozens upon dozens of police officers were mobilized for crowd control, and officers from nearby Jackson, Brick, Manchester and Toms River were requested. K9 unites were on scene.
As of this posting there has been a confirmed arrest. 3 boys were treated after being pepper sprayed.
What could of been a beautiful, calm event for those boys that needed it, turned into a colossal Chillul Hashem.
Sources tell YWN that the same people that had a Kol Koreh issued telling people to boycott and not advertise on recently constructed billboards in Lakewood — without ever caling the proprietor who invested hundreds of thousands of dollars on them — are the same individuals behind this latest ban.
BREAKING: Urgent message from Police Chief Greg Meyer: “They made their point now it’s time to move on. People want to return to normalcy before something serious happens.”

KIDDUSH HASHEM: Off-Duty NYPD Officer Killed in Crash; Jewish Community Joins to Help Wife & Five Children April 12, 2019 4:30 pm

An off-duty police officer has been killed in a motorcycle crash in Queens.
It happened on the westbound Belt Parkway near the Queens-Nassau border at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
Authorities say 42-year-old Marc St. Arromand was riding to work when he went down on his 2011 Yamaha motorcycle near Merrick Boulevard. He then collided with a metal guard rail and was struck by a vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The officer was a member of the department’s highway patrol unit in Brooklyn.
It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of @NYPDHighway Unit #2 Police Officer Marc St. Arromand. Our prayers are with his family & loved ones. You will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace. #NYPD
Mayor Bill de Blasio offered his condolences to the officer’s family, calling his death a “very painful day for all of us”.
Unfortunately, a lone member of the Jewish community posted a disgusting joke about the officer on Instagram, which caused a tremendous Chillul Hashem and outrage in the NYPD towards the Jewish Community. This hateful disgusting message – quoting the name of the Holy Reb Shayele Kerestirer no less – was widely shared on hundreds of law enforcement social media accounts, portraying the Jewish community as heartless people, when in fact, we are nothing of the sort.
Noticing this, YWN immediately joined with leading Jewish community activists to show our support for members of law enforcement, and to show our appreciation towards this officer as well as the members of law enforcement.
This officer helped the Jewish community on numerous occasions, as recently as last week when he helped provide an escort to the vehicle carrying the Skulener Rebbe ZATZAL to his burial.
I USED BE SOMETIMES UPSET, WHEN I TALK AND WRITE AND MAKE FUN OF HOW JEWISH FRUM PEOPLE. RUN AFTER ALL THEIR DESIRES, WHAT THEY SEE BY THE GOYIM, THEY MUST COPY.
RABBI MENASHE YISROEL REISMAN IN THIS MORNINGS SHEIR SAID,
THAT IT IS A MITZVAH TO MAKE FUN OF PEOPLE HOW THEY RUN AFTER ALL THEIR DESIRES.
WEDDINGS ARE MADE THAT THE POOR COUPLE DOES NOT RECOGNISE THEIR PLACE, THAT THEY CAN NOT AFFORD WHAT THE RICH PERSON HAS.
ON THE OTHER HAND THE RICH PERSON MAY NOT SHOW OFF WITH WHAT THEY CAN AFFORD, AS THIS IS ( THAT THEY ARE RICH ) FROM HASHEM ( NOTING TO DO WITH THEM )
AS I ALWAYS SAY EMUNA TO DAY IS BELIEVING THAT YOUR SITUATION IN LIFE IS FROM HASHEM
