Israel: Indictments To Be Handed Down Against Two Suspected Chareidi Drug Smugglers
Indictments will be handed down against two persons suspected of smuggling drugs using a suitcase with a false wall. The defendants are members of the Chareidi communitiesin Beit Shemesh and Bnei Brak. They were apprehended by customs agents at Ben-Gurion International Airport.
The police investigation began when one of the suspects returned from Eastern Europe. In a police investigation, a double wall was found in a suitcase containing material suspected of being a dangerous, revealed to be three kilograms of cocaine, valued at about 1.5 million shekels.
The suspects were questioned by the police on suspicion of importing dangerous drugs and conspiring to commit a crime.The 21-year-old suspect from Beit Shemesh was arrested and brought for questioning by the police, during which suspicion arose against a 23-year-old suspect from Bnei Brak who was allegedly supposed to receive the suitcase containing the drugs.
The detention of the 21-year-old was extended by the court and the 23-year-old was released to house arrest.
