The police dispatcher on Tuesday night 26 Menachem Av received a call from a bus driver after he found a girl on the bus as he checked the vehicle at the end of his route. Police arrived to and were somewhat surprised to see someone forgot the child on the bus.
This was the second case in a number of hours. Police announced this level of irresponsibility is not acceptable and criminal proceedings can be expected against the parents in this and similar cases.

THE MOBILE PHONE IS THE BIGGEST CURSE OF OUR TIME AND AS A ROV TOLD ME, NEARLY ALWAYS THE CAUSE OF A DIVORCE.

Big Kiddush Hashem As Sydney Hatzolah Helps Save Lives Of Multiple Drowning Victims On Beach

Seven Indonesian students have been hospitalised after they were rescued from ‘freak’ surf while swimming between the flags at Sydney’s most iconic beach.
The group were on a school excursion to Bondi Beach on Tuesday when two of the boys, both 16, disappeared under the water for a ‘period of time’ at 12.30pm.
Their classmates rushed into the water to try and save the pair but were also dragged out by the ‘freak’ surf.
Lifeguards paddled out and dragged the two boys who had been ‘submerged for a period of time’ to shore.
They performed CPR while concerned beach-goers watched on as and paramedics and local Ambulance Community Responders rushed to the scene.
One boy was transported to St Vincent’s Hospital in a condition, while the other was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Paramedics also took five other students to Prince of Wales Children’s Hospital as a precaution.
A spokesperson from the Children’s Hospital was unable to give an update on the condition of the students for privacy reasons.

The Baltimore Jewish Community awoke this morning to the tragic news that a young father of 3 children, Daniel Lansky, A’H, husband of Elana (Zylberminc) Lansky, son of Rabbi & Mrs. Nachum Lansky, succumbed to the illness he had been fighting

Am I scared? I am petrified. I wake in middle of the night in a pool of fear. I check my heart in middle of the day to make sure it is beating – but not beating too fast. I see the color of my skin change slightly and I panic – is this a reaction from the chemo like the two of four treatments that have sent me to the ER and extended stays in the hospital? Yes – Chasdie Hashem – the first time I had a reaction and was in the hospital for five days – admitted to the ER in a state of shock – the doctor told my frightened wife on day three – “he has turned a corner” – but it was the corner that puts us back on the long block to fighting Bezras Hashem – on the road to true recovery.
Am I scared? I am petrified. I hate asking for favors. HATE IT. It is so torturous being in a position where I need something from someone. There are so very many emotions and personal characteristics of mine that make me cringe and run from the idea of asking another to do something for me – but now is not the time for me to think of me. I have a wife, I have three little kids and I have cancer. We need your tefilos.
In a few days I will be having my first scans since I started treatment. Those scans will show what Hashem wants to be seen. No more – no less. So here I go – I am going to ask you for what I need from you.
SHUT YOUR PHONE OFF BEFORE ENTERING SHUL. PLEASE.
There is nothing – nothing – that can’t wait. Respect the Makom tefillah. Don’t put it on vibrate – don’t silence the ringer – simply turn it off. Please. Har Nof Woman Is Niftar Day Before Son’s Chasunah

Tragedy struck the Har Nof neighborhood of Yerushalayim as Moras Yocheved Chavah Gottleib A”H was niftar after the Shabbos Aufruf for her son. Her petira comes a day before her son’s chupah.

The 66-year-old Har Nof resident was married to Rav Chaim, and she went into cardiac arrest on motzei Shabbos, a just a few hours following the Aufruf. Mrs. Gottleib was planning to bring her son Shimon Menachem to the chupah in Bnei Brak on Sunday evening 17 Menachem Av but instead, the family attended a levaya before the chupah.
Acting on advise of rabbonim, when it was not clear if she would survive until the chupah, the family worked on motzei Shabbos to hold the chupah immediately, hoping she would be able to attend but efforts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful.
The nifteres was a daughter to Rav Yosef Leib Alter, a principal of Yeshivas Sfas Emmes and a grandchild of the brother of the Imrei Emmes of Gur ZT”L. She ran a dress shop in the Geula area of Yerushalayim.
The levaya took place on Sunday morning. תהא נשמתה צרורה בצרור החיים

WATCH: Shocking Videos Of Satmar Day Camp Activities Emerge On Social Media

In the attached videos currently viral on social media, there are two clips combined.
The clips were taken in the past two weeks at two separate Satmar day camps.
The first part of the video was taken at a camp affiliated with the Satmar Rebbe of Williamsburg, HaRav Zalman Leib Teitelbaum Shlita. The children are seen holding a fake anti-Israel protest, with the children making anti-Israel signs and chanting anti-Israel slogans.
The second part of the clip was taken at a camp affiliated with the Satamr Rebbe of Kiryas Yoel, HaRav Aharon Teitelbaum Shlita. In this camp activity, the young children are all given eggs and when the mock vehicle with the “Prime Minister of Israel” drives through the crowd, the children pelt the vehicle – covering it in eggs. Chants of “Bibi Netanyahu shame on you!” can be heard as the children cover the vehicle in eggs.
If that’s not disturbing enough, the egging incident was taken a step further.
Not only were the children thought to throw things at someone you disagree with, not to mention a moving vehicle, and not only was the blatant disregard for Baal Tashchis displayed on a mass scale – but the newspaper (Der Blatt) aligned with this Satmar faction proudly covered this story. Mi Ke’amcha Yisroel: Mais Mitzvah In Rockland County Is National News Story

It is headlined “Woman’s funeral had no attendees, so 30 strangers showed up”.
ORANGETOWN, N.Y. – About 30 people have paid their respects to a woman they never met after responding to a call for attendees for a suburban New York funeral at which no one was expected to show upThe Journal News reports the strangers served as Francine Stein’s pallbearers and also helped bury her during the service Wednesday at a cemetery in Orangetown.
Stein died at the age of 83. Rabbi Elchanan Weinbach officiated the service and says there was no eulogy because he didn’t know anything about the woman. He learned at the cemetery that Stein was a musician and had taught at the Julliard School.
The call for volunteers came on Facebook from Weinbach’s daughter.
One attendee said she came to the service as a simple act of “human decency.”

The journey of a tiny Torah scroll from a concentration camp to outer space

A secret bar mitzvah at Bergen-Belsen. Israel’s first astronaut, Ilon Ramon. The fate of the Columbia Space Shuttle.

“I thought I was making a documentary about the Holocaust,” director Dan Cohen tells the camera in a meta-movie about his movie, “An Article of Hope.”

But the story he had planned took a remarkable turn when he made a startling discovery about a miniature Torah scroll, no larger than the palm of your hand.

First smuggled into the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1944 by the chief rabbi of Holland, Simon Dasberg, the tiny scroll was used in a clandestine Bar Mitzvah ceremony for the young Joachim Joseph, who promised his rabbi he’d safeguard it. The rabbi perished in the camp, but Joseph survived; and with the scrap of the scroll that enjoined him as an adult to his people, he emigrated to Israel and became a successful scientist. Many decades later, when Israel’s first astronaut Ilan Ramon was conscripted to travel on the Space Shuttle Columbia, Ramon asked Joseph if he could bring the scroll with him into space “as a symbol”.

“He thought he would show it to the world how a person can go from the depths of hell to the heights of space,” Joseph recalls in the documentary.

And indeed, Ramon did just that. Before the mission’s fateful end on February 1, 2003, images from the spacecraft show him holding up the delicate scroll, like a kitten in his hand, for the world to see. The little scroll had survived the Holocaust, but it would not survive the Columbia’s re-entry into the earth’s atmosphere, when the spaceship and all seven passengers disintegrated into thin air over Texas.

It is, after all, a quite literal tale of the magnificent scope of history, from the grounds of a death camp to the known heights of the universe.

Since before he can remember, Camp Simcha Special camper Aaron has always dreamed of being a paleontologist. This evening at Camp Simcha Special, Aaron’s dream came true.

While preparing the ground for the future home of a new bunk house, Camp Simcha Special’s assistant head counselor, Tzvi Haber, stumbled upon what he thought could possibly be authentic dinosaur bones. Little Aaron was secretly called to the scene, accompanied by his camp counselor Mordy Dachs and assigned rotator Chatz Katz, to investigate the reported finding. Aaron was given a professional brush to dust away at the bones, and discovered what he believes are the remains of an ancient battle between a Tyrannosaurus Rex and a Stegosaurus.
